Governments are taking several actions to combat the Human Metapneumovirus (HMPV) as cases have been reported in various regions, particularly in India.

1. Monitoring and surveillance :- The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) is actively tracking HMPV, quickly identify and report cases .

2. Public Health Advisories :- State governments, including Delhi and Karnataka, have issued advisories to inform the public about HMPV. These advisories highlight the importance of personal care 

3. Healthcare Precautions :- Hospitals must availability of medicines, antihistamines, bronchodilators and isolation protocols.

4. Mass Communication :- The Union Health Ministry has encourage citizens that there is no tension for HMPV. They are communicating daily with the World Health Organization (WHO) to stay updated on the situation and share information with the citizens.

5. Protective actions :- Government aware about  preventive measures such as mask-wearing, hand cleaning, and don't go close to sick people. Public health experts are telling to people about respiratory illness.

6. Research and Development :-  currently no vaccine for HMPV researchers are doing research about HMPV vaccine inventions.

Human-Metapneumovirus (HMPV) and covid-19 are both respiratory viruses, difference are :-

✥ Respiratory illness - Both HMPV and covid-19 cause lungs and breathing infections. They can affect people of all ages, particularly vulnerable groups like young children, older adults, and individuals with weak immune systems.

✥ Transference - Both viruses spread through respiratory drops from coughing or sneezing, direct contact with infected individuals, and touching contaminated areas.

✥ Seasonally: HMPV attack in winter season highly , while COVID-19 seasonal changes but can occur overall year.

As of now today in  India has reported a total of seven confirmed cases of Human Metapneumovirus (HMPV). 

Recent two new cases were reported today in Nagpur, bringing the total to seven cases. earlier five cases were confirmed on January 6, including two new born babies in Bengaluru, Karnataka (13 months old (discharged) and 18 months old(currently recovering)). 12 months old (admitted) new born baby in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. two cases from Tamil Nadu (one each in Chennai and Salem cities).
